Ma. Ivy Rozeth Saavedra-Iturralde, MD, PHSAE, is a public health physician and field epidemiologist based in Zamboanga City, Mindanao, Philippines. A graduate of the Philippine Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) – Advanced Course, she has extensive experience in disease surveillance and has led outbreak investigations for measles, dengue, polio, COVID-19, and other infectious diseases at local, regional, and national levels. She has contributed to strengthening surveillance systems and advancing environmental monitoring for vaccine-derived polioviruses in Mindanao. As a mentor to FETP Frontline trainees and a public health research adviser, she supports capacity-building in outbreak response, data analysis, and scientific communication. Her work is grounded in systems thinking, evidence-based practice, and multisectoral collaboration to advance health security and public health preparedness.
