Global Equity in Access to Pandemic Response Tools

The latest installment of CEID’s fall symposium series will kick off with opening remarks by President Melissa L. Gilliam, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, CEID Founding Director. The panel will feature Dr. Hillary Carter, Senior Strategist for Global Health Security at the U.S. Department of State; Dr. Joia Mukherjee, Chief Medical Officer at Partners In Health; and Dr. Andrea Vicari, Unit Chief of Infectious Hazard Management at PAHO/WHO. The keynote address will be delivered by Ms. Loyce Pace, Assistant Secretary for Global Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The event will conclude with a networking reception from 5:15 to 6:30 PM, offering hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine. The symposium aims to explore current challenges in timely access to public health tools during emerging infectious disease events, international efforts to improve global equity, and future directions for global cooperation during outbreaks. Attendees can join the event either on-campus or via Zoom, and registration is open until November 5.
