Scott&#8217;s interests are in the fields of data science, machine learning, and quantum computing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Scott has a background in applied mathematics, scientific computing, and data science. He received his PhD in Mathematics from Temple University in 2015. After his PhD, Scott was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Manchester in the UK. Scott then moved to the Netherlands to work as a software engineer for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextocean.nl\/\">Next Ocean<\/a>. At Next Ocean, Scott developed software to predict ship-motions based on time series of radar images and ship-motion data. After that, Scott worked as a senior analyst programmer and technical team lead for Hybrid Intelligence, a division within Capgemini Engineering. Scott returned to the US in 2021. Shortly thereafter, Scott joined the applications team within BU&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/support\/research\/rcs\/\">Research Computing Services<\/a> (RCS) as a Senior Research Computing Applications and Data Specialist.
