Initiative<\/a> courses and programs gathered at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/xcc\/about\/events\/experiential-learning-expo\/spark-demo-day\/\">Spring 2025 Demo Day<\/a> event to present the results of a semester of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning. Hosted on the first and second floors of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cds-faculty\/explore\/bu-center-for-computing-data-sciences\/\">Duan Family Center for Computing &amp; Data Sciences<\/a>, and part of the University&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/xcc\/about\/events\/experiential-learning-expo\/\">Experiential Learning Expo<\/a>, the event featured a wide range of interdisciplinary computing and data science projects developed in partnership with industry sponsors, civic organizations, and research labs.<\/p>\n<p>This semester\u2019s work spanned <strong>civic data tools<\/strong>, <strong>legal tech prototypes<\/strong>, <strong>climate and housing equity platforms<\/strong>, and <strong>urban mobility research, <\/strong>each shaped by real client needs and semester-long collaboration. Students worked across disciplines, applying their technical skills to solve meaningful problems while developing critical experience in teamwork, stakeholder communication, and agile project development.<\/p>\n<p>Demo Day celebrated student achievement and offered a space for feedback, exploration, and future connections. As attendees moved between breakout stations and voted on their favorite demos, they witnessed the powerful outcomes of project-based learning at Spark! Housed within the <a href=\"http:\/\/bu.edu\/cds-faculty\">Faculty of Computing &amp; Data Sciences<\/a>, Spark! empowers students to engage in applied research, industry collaboration, and meaningful, real-world problem solving. It also fosters an inclusive, interdisciplinary community committed to impact-driven innovation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"2244\">About the Experiential Learning Expo:<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"2244\" class=\"\">Since 2023, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/xcc\/about\/events\/experiential-learning-expo\/\">Expo<\/a>\u2014hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/provost\/students\/undergraduate\/\">BU\u2019s Office of Undergraduate Affairs<\/a>\u2014has served as a capstone celebration held at the close of each semester. The expo consistently showcases the breadth of student-driven innovation made possible through programs like the Cross-College Challenge, the Learning Assistant Program, and BU Spark!
