AI Ethics: Measuring Real-World Impact in Education #BOSTechWeek

Please join Boston University's Wheelock College of Education & Human Development and the Just Horizons Alliance and the for the launch of the AI Ethics Index for K-12 Education. Hosted by Azer Bestavros, Associate Provost, Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences, this session brings together leaders from academia, civil society, and industry to explore a new tool for evaluating the use of artificial intelligence in K-12 education. The use of this tool and methodology will have relevance to every business sector. The event will feature a preview of the AI Ethics Index, a tool developed by Just Horizons Alliance, a non-profit applied research lab, founded by Wesley J. Wildman, who is also Boston University Duan Family Faculty Fellow and Professor of Computing & Data Sciences, and Professor of Philosophy, Theology, and Ethics. The AI Ethics Index is designed to help educators, policymakers, and companies evaluate the ethical dimensions of AI systems, particularly large language models used in educational settings. This collaboration is an example of the type of convergent research at Boston University made possible by the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences. This event is presented by Boston University Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences, as a part of #BostonTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem.
