CDS Communications Intern
The Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) at Boston University is seeking a Communications Intern to support dynamic storytelling and outreach across digital platforms. This position is ideal for a student with strong writing skills, project management ability, and a passion for making complex ideas engaging and accessible.
Interviews will be conducted early August 2025.
Key Responsibilities

Draft and edit content for newsletters, social media, and the CDS website — including student features, research highlights, and event promotions.

Manage and schedule posts for CDS social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

Assist with creating and distributing the CDS email newsletter (Mailchimp).

Maintain editorial calendars and track engagement metrics.
-
Support content updates and basic page editing in WordPress.

Collaborate with staff, faculty, and students to uncover compelling stories.
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work 15-20 hours per week.

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills (samples required).

Experience with social media management and familiarity with platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn (samples required).

Some experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms.

Excellent project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.

Web Manager Intern
The Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Web Manager to help maintain and enhance our web presence. This student position is ideal for someone with strong WordPress experience who enjoys working on design, structure, and content strategy to ensure an engaging and accessible user experience.
Interviews will be conducted early August 2025.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the CDS website using the WordPress CMS

Build and edit pages with clear layout, accessibility, and usability in mind

Upload and format content (text, images, links, media) across multiple pages

Implement minor design adjustments within established branding guidelines

Collaborate with CDS Communications and IT teams to implement new features or tools as needed
Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in WordPress

Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS

Strong attention to detail and organization

Ability to communicate clearly and take initiative on assigned projects

Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
