Kira Goldner Awarded Shibulal Family Professorship
The Faculty of Computing & Data Science is pleased to announce that Kira Goldner has been named the 2021-22 Shibulal Family Career Development Professor in Computing & Data Sciences. Each year, Boston University recognizes several junior faculty who have shown themselves to be future leaders in their fields.
Named for the family of S.D. Shibulal, a MET 1988 graduate of Boston University and member of the Boston University Board of Trustees, this three-year award is a recognition of talented junior faculty who show exceptional promise. Goldner is the second CDS faculty member to receive this award, with our own Krzysztof Onak receiving it last year.
"I'm so honored to be recognized and supported by BU and the Shibulal Family right after my joining! I plan to spend the next few years putting my energy into both the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences and the research field of mechanism design and computing for social good as they are both due to erupt and effect change. I look forward to welcoming new students into our programs and getting to work on research with them--this is the reason I chose the academic path--as well as combining an interdisciplinary community across Boston."
Join us in congratulating Professor Goldner for this very well-deserved recognition! "We are proud and lucky to have Kira in our ranks as a great ambassador for BU and as the embodiment of CDS' motto of computing and data sciences for good," says Associate Provost Azer Bestavros.
