I have long-standing interests in language and social-cognitive development in a number of different populations, especially autism, Williams syndrome, and developmental language disorders.  More recently, my research has explored the connections among genes, brain pathology and cognitive\/behavioral impairments in people with these disorders at different ages.  <\/p>\n<p>My work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and private foundations.  I have edited several books, published many articles and chapters, and serve on the editorial boards of a number of professional journals.
