Before coming to BU, I spent many years in rural Mississippi and Arkansas teaching, coaching teachers, and managing the coaches of teachers. These experiences led me to wonder why some thrive in high-challenge, high-stress environments, while others fare more poorly. The BEE lab is an exciting opportunity to research how one&#8217;s environment influences brain development and functioning, and how negative impacts might be counteracted.
