Her research interests center on advancing naturalistic and functional treatment approaches for aphasia, with a particular interest in conversation-based and group interventions. She is dedicated to understanding how aphasia impacts social participation and everyday functioning, and she aims to investigate outcomes that extend beyond core language impairment, including behavioral and neural markers of recovery. Informed by her clinical experience, Maddy hopes to support the translation of research into meaningful, evidence-based interventions that improve quality of life for individuals with aphasia and their families.

Research Interests

Functional treatment approaches for aphasia

Social participation and quality of life outcomes

Behavioral and neural mechanisms of treatment-induced recovery

Translational clinical research and patient-centered research

Current Project(s)
National Aphasia Association CORE Impact https://staging.aphasia.org/core-impact/

Links
Personal Website
Research Gate
Google Scholar
ORCID
Bluesky

<h4 class="bu_collapsible" aria-expanded="false"tabindex="0" role="button">Peer-Reviewed Publications

Dunne, M., Hoover, E., & DeDe, G.
