{"id":2033,"date":"2013-09-18T16:29:28","date_gmt":"2013-09-18T20:29:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/casecomp\/?page_id=2033"},"modified":"2018-03-19T10:58:01","modified_gmt":"2018-03-19T14:58:01","slug":"frequently-asked-questions-2018","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/casecomp\/home\/frequently-asked-questions-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Frequently Asked Questions 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Event Information<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <\/strong>The Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health is a\u00a0two-day Challenge that will bring teams of Graduate\u00a0students from all over the world together to showcase their ideas on how information technology could influence and transform global healthcare to create value for the world. \u00a0Teams of full-time students from\u00a0some of the best schools in the United\u00a0States\u00a0will come together to offer insights to executives from leading IT and healthcare firms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who can participate?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe 5th Annual Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health is an <em><strong>invitation only <\/strong><\/em>competition consisting of\u00a0<strong>Graduate\u00a0students<\/strong> from the top institutions in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When will the Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health be held?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health will be held at the Boston University School of Management on\u00a0<strong>March 22-23, 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the prizes for this competition?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Grand Business Challenge Prizes (all amounts are in USD)<\/strong><br \/>\n1st Place \u2013 $25,000<br \/>\n2nd Place \u2013 $15,000<br \/>\n3rd Place \u2013\u00a0$10,000<br \/>\n4th Place\u00a0\u2013 $7,500<\/p>\n<p><em>Teams not selected to compete in the final round will also have an opportunity to win prize money!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Participant Details<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there an application process to enter the Challenge?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo. \u00a0Participation in the 5th Annual Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health is by <b><i>invitation only<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a fee to enter the Challenge?<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are no registration or application fees. \u00a0We will cover the costs of your stay during your participation at Boston University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many members should each team have?<\/strong><br \/>\nEach team is required to have four participants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the format for the Challenge?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><\/strong>Teams will receive a specific briefing on the first day of the Challenge (March 22). \u00a0Teams will then have until 8:30AM on the following day to work on their presentations before submitting them to the judges. The first round of presentations will take place on March 23rd and will be judged by Merck executives and industry experts. \u00a0Four teams will be selected to compete in the Grand Business Challenge that evening; the final 4 teams will be announced during lunch. \u00a0We have designed this as a collaborative event to learn from and advance new ideas on an important global theme. \u00a0The prize winners will be announced at the closing dinner reception.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note that the schedule of events is subject to change<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Those teams who are\u00a0<em>not<\/em> selected for the final round will have the opportunity to compete for prize money in a\u00a0<em><strong>Second Day<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0<em>Challenge<\/em><\/strong>.<strong> <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the format for the final presentation?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <\/strong>The final presentation will be delivered to the judges, Challenge participants, and students on the evening of Friday, March 23rd in the\u00a0Questrom School of Business\u00a0Auditorium. \u00a0<em>Business Attire is required for the final presentations and the award ceremony.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Can more than one team from a single school compete?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo, only one four-member team per school may compete. \u00a0Only ONE team per school will be accepted.<\/p>\n<p>More details will be provided to the\u00a0twelve teams selected for the 5th Annual Grand Business Challenge in Digital Health.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Logistics<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Will Boston University make hotel arrangements for teams?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Questrom School of Business has welcomed an impressive group of teams from across the globe for the Case Competitions in prior years. \u00a0As host of the competition, we will provide accommodations at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonhotelbuckminster.com\/\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotels\/travel\/bosfn-residence-inn-boston-back-bay-fenway\/\">Residence Inn Boston Back Bay-Fenway<\/a>, which is just a brief walk from the School. The Hotel is accessible by public transportation; take the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mbta.com\">MBTA<\/a> Green line (B, C, or D train) to the Kenmore stop.
