We caught up with Ayush Sharma, a recent MS in Artificial Intelligence graduate (May 2025), to explore his inspiring path and hear his top advice for fellow GRS students in this exclusive Q&A.<\/p>\n

Please briefly introduce yourself, what\u2019s your background, where are you from, and why did you study at BU GRS?<\/b><\/p>\n

Hi, I am Ayush, an AI and Fitness enthusiast at heart. <\/span>I\u2019m originally from India, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science. Before moving to the U.S. for my Master\u2019s, I worked as a Machine Learning Intern at Schneider Electric for seven months. I also received multiple full-time offers, which I declined to pursue my MS degree.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mathematics has always been my core interest, which led me to choose Computer Science for its blend of logic and math. I wasn\u2019t drawn to other fields like Physics or Chemistry.<\/span><\/p>\n

During my undergrad, I discovered Machine Learning and was fascinated by its math-heavy nature, which inspired me to pursue an advanced career in AI at Boston University.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why did you choose to come to BU for your graduate degree?<\/b><\/p>\n

BU was one of the very few universities offering a specialized Master\u2019s degree in Artificial Intelligence, which was the primary reason I chose to study here. Additionally, BU\u2019s strong global reputation and Boston\u2019s urban environment, student-friendly atmosphere, and competitive academic culture (thanks to the presence of numerous universities) made it an ideal choice.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your favorite spots on the BU Campus?<\/b><\/p>\n

Some of my favorite spots at BU include the Mugar Library and the Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) building (especially the 6th floor), where I spent countless hours studying during my first two semesters. Not to mention, the CDS building’s architecture is crazy, I\u2019ve never seen anything like it. I love it, it’s incredible!<\/span><\/p>\n

FitRec holds a special place in my heart, it\u2019s an amazing gym and recreational spot! I spent a lot of time there throughout my Master\u2019s and continue to use their membership even after graduation. <\/span>I also love spending time and playing Spikeball at BU Beach.<\/span><\/p>\n

When it comes to food, I often cook for myself, but on campus, the George Sherman Union was always my go-to spot.<\/span><\/p>\n

What was your favorite part about attending BU and studying in the US?<\/b><\/p>\n

“If I had to sum up my experience in a few words, it would be: Diversity, Exposure, and Knowledge”.<\/em> The diversity at BU is unmatched, with a vibrant community of international students. I love living in Boston, and the BU campus was a unique and refreshing experience, especially since I had never been part of an open, city-integrated campus before.<\/span><\/p>\n

BU offered countless opportunities for growth, and I made the most of them through roles like Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and by completing a Master\u2019s thesis. Overall, studying at BU was an amazing and unforgettable experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

How is life in Boston?<\/b><\/p>\n

A beautiful city with incredible exposure. It\u2019s full of students and working professionals, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. The public transportation system is well-connected across the city, making it easy to get around. You literally do not need to own a vehicle in Boston.<\/span><\/p>\n

Boston has a great energy and pace to it. I absolutely love Boston: it\u2019s safe, scenic, and has a lot of skyscrapers, especially in and around Downtown.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your post-graduate plans?<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve joined a company called ReSupply as an AI Engineer, based in Boston. I\u2019ll be working out of their Downtown office starting June 2, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n
