Please briefly introduce yourself, what\u2019s your background, and where are you from?<\/b><\/p>\n

I was born and raised in China and earned my bachelor of arts degree in Economics at Occidental College, CA, where I majored in Economics and minored in Art and Art History. The decision to pursue a master\u2019s degree in Quantitative Economics was driven by my aspiration to delve into advanced economic theories and quantitative training. Outside academia, I enjoy painting watercolors and building miniatures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why did you choose to come to BU GRS for your graduate degree?<\/b><\/p>\n

I was looking for a graduate program where I could learn advanced economic theories and quantitative skills. Renowned globally for its economics department, what attracted me most was the expertise of faculty members who teach the master\u2019s classes. Additionally, the STEM-designated MS in Quantitative Economics program offers an advantageous 24-month OPT extension.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your favorite spots on the BU Campus?<\/b><\/p>\n

One of my favorite spots on campus is the study lounge at Warren Towers \u2014 small, quiet, cozy, and conveniently situated near the dining hall and printing room. It provides the perfect environment for focused work. I also love the BU beach, which offers a scenic view of the Charles River with ultramarine waters and delightful squirrels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your favorite part about attending BU and studying in the US?<\/b><\/p>\n

What I appreciate most about being at BU is its distinct environment compared to a small liberal arts college. BU thrives on diversity and provides a wealth of student resources, including career events and panels. Plenty of student organizations, clubs, and engaging PDP (physical education, recreation & dance) courses are also available. Also, the professors in the programs are kind and approachable. They are always patient in answering questions during their office hours and help students to improve their performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

How is life in Boston?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Life in Boston is akin to being in a European city with a picturesque landscape and various museums and parks waiting to be explored. It\u2019s always nice to walk on the street and pay attention to the details of scenarios, even fallen autumn leaves resemble oil paintings. It is cold and windy, however, during the winter. For those who grew up in warmer climates, it might take some time to get used to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you hope to do after you graduate?<\/b><\/p>\n

In the short run, I aim to secure a position in a bank or insurance company, applying the knowledge gained during my studies. Looking ahead, my long-term vision involves adopting a rescue dog and contributing to initiatives supporting women in economics and entrepreneurship.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
