Associate Professor of Computer Science <strong>Kate Saenko<\/strong> will give this year&#8217;s lecture, titled &#8220;Overcoming Dataset Bias in Artificial Intelligence.&#8221; Her talk will focus on learning algorithms called artificial neural networks, which<span>\u00a0are vulnerable to the problem of &#8220;dataset bias,&#8221; which happens when the algorithm&#8217;s training data is not representative of future test data.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can register at the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/alumniweekend\">Alumni Weekend website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kate leads the Computer Vision and Learning Group at BU and is the founder and co-director of the Artificial Intelligence Research (AIR) initiative. She received a Ph.D. from MIT and did her postdoctoral training at UC Berkeley and Harvard.
