In this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/policies\/bachelors-to-masters-program-policy\/\">program<\/a>, students complete all requirements for the Bachelor of Arts and may apply up to 8 credits from the undergraduate degree toward the master\u2019s degree for the Master of Arts or Master of Science. Courses must be 500 level or above <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/policies\/bachelors-to-masters-program-policy\/\">effective June 1, 2025<\/a>. Successful completion of a Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s Program may lead to enhanced career employment opportunities, professional training, or doctoral studies. Please note that departmental requirements vary from a total of 36\u201040 semester courses (a total of 144-160 credits). In all cases, there are at least eight courses required at the 500\u00ad\u2010level or above, and these courses must be passed with a grade of B\u2010 or better. For more information please review the 2024-2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/fsapartners.ed.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-2025\/2024-2025_Federal_Student_Aid_Handbook\/_knowledge-center_fsa-handbook_2024-2025_vol1.pdf\">Federal Student Aid Handbook<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfr.gov\/current\/title-34\/subtitle-B\/chapter-VI\/part-668\/subpart-A\/section-668.2\">34 CFR 668.2(B)<\/a>)\u00a0 or email grsaid@bu.edu.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The regulations specify that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an undergraduate student,&#8221; is in part, as a student &#8220;who is enrolled in an undergraduate course of study that usually does not exceed four years, or is enrolled in a longer program designed to lead to a degree at the baccalaureate level&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>for purposes of dual degree programs a student is considered to be an undergraduate for at least the first three years of the program<\/li>\n<li>a graduate or professional student is a student who is enrolled in a program or course above the baccalaureate level or in a professional program and has completed the equivalent of three academic years of full-time study, either prior to entering the program or as part of the program itself<\/li>\n<li>a student who is receiving Title IV aid as an undergraduate student cannot be considered a graduate\/professional student for that same period of enrollment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Required Supplemental Forms\/Documents<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the application form found at the bottom of this page, the following documents are also required:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plan of Study<\/strong>: Consult with the designated Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s degree program faculty director in the department of proposed study to complete the <a href=\"\/cas\/files\/2020\/09\/BAMA-BAMS-Plan-of-Study.pdf\">Plan of Study form<\/a>. The Bachelor\u2019s-to-Master\u2019s faculty director must review and sign your plan of study, which you should then attach to the application form below. For applicants with a double major, a secondary signature is required from the Director of Undergraduate Studies or faculty advisor in the second undergraduate major program. Once you have their agreement, you will enter their name and contact information into the online application system. The system will automatically email instructions for the recommendation to the professor.
