These are intended for short-term (less than a day) loans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Do you have projectors?<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes, we have two portable projectors available for loan, and adapters for old and new Mac computers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>How do I make an equipment reservation?<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li>You can check and reserve equipment through\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:cashelp@bu.edu\">e-mail<\/a>\u00a0or you can\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/casit\/help-request\/\">submit a help ticket<\/a>. Reservations are for faculty and staff only.\u00a0 Students will require a full-time employee to make the reservation on behalf of the student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Equipment Disposal<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>How do I dispose of old equipment?<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li>We provide environmentally responsible disposal of old equipment, including old toner cartridges, CPUs, monitors, and other peripherals. Just submit a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/casit\/help-request\/\">help ticket<\/a>\u00a0with details on where the equipment is and we\u2019ll arrange for a pick up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>What kinds of equipment do you take?<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li>We dispose of any electronics, including monitors, computers, peripherals,etc. \u00a0We also collect floppies and hard drives for media destruction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Do you ever reuse old equipment?<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes, all of the time.\u00a0 In many cases, with a little rehab and a few new parts, many computers can be repurposed for general access computers for students or in some cases replacement of equipment in other departments that have older machines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Filemaker Database Hosting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CAS Information Technology provides Filemaker Database hosting.\u00a0 We currently host over 300 databases for various departments and we can host yours as well.\u00a0 Let us know if you have database hosting needs and we can work with you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Virtual Machine\/Virtual Server Hosting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Virtual Desktops<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students enrolled in AS312, CS103, PY421 or select Economics classes using Stata 14 can be granted access to the CAS virtual desktop environment. By downloading and installing the VMware Horizon Client, the virtual machines are accessible from any computer connected to the BU network.
