She learned something new every day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cas\/arts-sciences\/article\/living-to-learn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Feld<\/a> (CAS\u201973) has spent the past 18 years giving back to\u2014and continuing to learn from\u2014the College of Arts &amp; Sciences as a member and chair of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cas\/about\/dean-of-arts-sciences\/dab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dean\u2019s Advisory Board<\/a>, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cas\/magazine\/fall12\/feld\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">chair of the Arts &amp; Sciences fund drive<\/a> during the Campaign for Boston University, and by funding professorships and student support programs.<\/p>\n<p>Feld, who stepped down from the Dean\u2019s Advisory Board in June 2024, spent 50 years working with her former husband, Kenneth Feld (Questrom\u201970, Hon.\u201924), at Feld Entertainment, which produces Ringling Bros. and Barnum &amp; Bailey, Monster Jam, Supercross, <em>Disney Live!<\/em>, and <em>Disney on Ice<\/em>. She has also dedicated herself to live theater, as a member and chair of the Signature Theatre in Arlington, Va.; as a coproducer of the Tony Award\u2013winning Broadway musical <em>Dear Evan Hansen<\/em>; and, most recently, as a coproducer of the Tony Award\u2013nominated Broadway musical <em>Water for Elephants<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI live to learn,\u201d she says. \u201cI pick up as much as I can around me and try to figure out how to implement, make it better.\u201d Her passion for learning through experience inspired her to give a founding gift to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cas-connector\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CAS Experiential Learning Connector<\/a>, a new resource to help undergraduates find and access experiential learning opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn college, I was just collecting information that I thought was interesting. The ability to understand the usage of the courses that I took, to think about them in terms of application, just wasn\u2019t a thing. Now the Connector is there as a guide to help,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s the connective tissue that I wish I\u2019d had.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Feld encourages fellow alumni to follow her lead in giving back\u2014to bring what they have learned in their lives and careers back to campus to support and enhance the experience of current students. \u201cThe University is a lot different than when any of us were there. We\u2019re better because we have this affiliation.
