Mellon Foundation New Directions Fellowship<\/span><\/a>, which supports scholarship in the humanities. Uden&#8217;s upcoming book will discuss how literature, culture,\u00a0and medicine intersected during\u00a0<span>the Roman Empire, and thus will help provide an understanding\u00a0of the modern connection between them.
