Broader Impacts

Broader Impacts are the societal impacts and benefits of research—how our work can improve society and create opportunity. While Broader Impacts is one of the criteria required for National Science Foundation grant proposals, it is also a guiding principle for how we view research and engage with the world around us.

CAS works to extend the impact of its research and create lasting community connections by developing K-12 outreach programs, undergraduate research opportunities, and educator development programs. Faculty members with ideas for new programs are encouraged to contact us for advice and support.
