Assistant Professor of Computer Science Alina Ene was selected as one of the 128 early-career researchers recently named as 2021 Sloan Research Fellows. A Sloan Research Fellowship is one of the most prestigious awards available to young researchers, in part because so many past Fellows have gone on to become towering figures in the history of science. Alina’s research includes theoretical computer science and algorithms, optimization, and theoretical machine learning and recent work focuses on submodular optimization and various aspects of both convex and non-convex optimization.
