Join us on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 12:00-8:00 PM in the Howard Thurman Center for BU’s first-ever Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality (WGS) Studies Book Fair! There will be a $5 below book fair (all proceeds going toward WGS scholarship opportunities), a bookmark-crafting station, and a panel featuring BU WGS scholars!

ITINERARY

$5 Below Book Sale: 12:00—8:00 PM - Check out our diverse selection of new & gently-used books spanning many different genres & academic disciplines! - Pins, bookmarks, jewelry, & stationary will also be for sale at low cost. - All proceeds will benefit WGS scholarship opportunities for marginalized student scholars.

Bookmark-Crafting Station: 2:00—6:00 PM Drop by to craft your own bookmark & mingle with fellow BU community members!

WGS Scholars Panel: 6:00—7:30 PM Join us for a thought-provoking, multidisciplinary discussion—covering topics such as getting involved in WGS, addressing book bans & censorship, & more—led by esteemed BU faculty members!

ACCESSIBILITY INFO

The event is open to all BU community members, with a valid BU ID is required for entry. The event is free to attend, with the opportunity to purchase books at low cost. The venue is mobility-device accessible. All-gender bathrooms are available on the 1st & 2nd floors of the building. Protective face masks are strongly encouraged to protect the safety of our community, especially folks who are immunocompromised. This is a sober (alcohol and drug-free) event.
