Michelle M. Wright is the Augustus Baldwin Longstreet Professor of English at Emory University, where she teaches classes in African Diaspora Studies and African American Studies. She is the author of Becoming Black: Creating Identity in the African Diaspora (Duke UP, 2004) and Physics of Blackness: Beyond the Middle Passage Epistemology (UMN Press, 2015). She has written for a broad range of journals, including Callaloo, Transforming Anthropology, Nka, Ebony magazine and The LA Review of Books on a broad variety of subjects, including Black Europe, queer studies, time studies, identity formation, the visual arts, and Black feminist theory.
