Ukraine, 1932. Welcome to the village. The men are gone. The fields are burnt. Once a land of golden fields, the country is laid waste by the Holodomor–Stalin’s campaign to destroy the body and soul of the Ukrainian people. Led by Queen of the Thieves Anna and the Mad General Irina, the surviving women hold their village together with bare hands and rusted farm tools. An all too current reminder that the past is our future.
By Abbey Fenbert. Directed by Bryn Boice.
