BU Spark logoMany CAS students won top prizes at the annual BU Spark! Demo Day, which is a semesterly event where students involved in BU Spark! showcase their projects.

EyeBall, a project that uses computer vision and AI to empower amateur basketball players to showcase their skills to fans and recruiters through a personalized video resume—and automatically broadcasts their games live online—won the 2021 Judges Choice Award. It features work from Sameer Chaturvedi (CAS’21), Anthony Ter-Saakov (CAS’21), Arushi Gupta (CAS’21), Ayca Solmaz (CAS’23), and Hannah Huang (CFA’23).

Spot, an app for students to find study spaces, won the Spark! Innovation Fellow Audience Choice Award, with work by Evan Hsu (CAS’23), Tilak Agarwal (CAS’23), Preksha Munot (CAS’22), John Chai (CAS’23), and Katie So (CFA’22).

A group of students, including Nikita Jakkam (CAS’21), Jana Mikaela Aguilar (CAS’22), Anthony Chang (CAS’22), Justin Janice (CAS’21), Kari Everson (CFA’21), and Sloane Schuchman (CFA’21), won the Audience Choice Award for a data-entry app made for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
