Arts & Sciences Lecture Series: 2023–2024

Submit a nomination for the Arts & Sciences Lecture Series for Academic Year 2023/2024. The Arts & Sciences Lecture Series comprises three endowed lectures: the Gitner Family CAS Lecture; the Howard Zinn Memorial Lecture; and the Annual Silas Peirce Lecture.

    • The Gerald and Deanne Gitner Family CAS Lecture profiles a CAS faculty member in any field.
    • The Howard Zinn Memorial Lecture was established in 2008 to be a stimulating and energizing memorial to the progressive political values Professor Howard Zinn embodied as a writer, teacher, and mentor.
    • The annual Silas Pierce Lecture is open to all fields of inquiry covered in the College of Arts & Sciences, and is designed to represent different fields across the years

More information about each lecture can be found here.

These lectures provide a unique opportunity for the College to invite distinguished guests, to profile our own faculty, and to convene the College community, including our alumni and friends in the Boston area.

Nominations are due by May 5 and can be submitted to Abby Baldwin (abaldwin@bu.edu).
