Interested in helping your peers, class, or student organization learn about experiential learning?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

EL Ambassadors offer workshops for <\/span>any <\/span>undergraduate<\/span> student<\/span> groups on topics related to experiential learning. Workshops can be customized to fit multiple <\/span>time frames<\/span> or topics depending on the request. <\/span>Check out our different workshop options to see which one meets your needs.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Overview of the EL Connector<\/h4>
\n

In this workshop, an EL Ambassador will provide an overview of the <\/span>EL Connector, introducing the programs, resources, and support <\/span>we can offer<\/span> students<\/span> looking to<\/span> engage in experiential learning. Recommended <\/span>time <\/span>for this <\/span>session <\/span>is 15 minutes.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Introduction to Experiential Learning at BU<\/h4>
\n

In this workshop, EL Ambassadors <\/span>introduce the concept of experiential learning and go over the wide r<\/span>ange of <\/span>opportunities available to students at BU, such as: applied coursework; community engagement; creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial projects; fieldwork; internships, leadership; mentored research; student employment; and study abroad\/away. EL Ambassadors will also provide tips for students to maximize their engagement in these types of opportunities.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>Recommended <\/span>time <\/span>for this <\/span>session <\/span>is 30 \u2013 60 minutes.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Reflection for Experiential Learning<\/h4>
\n

This workshop is designed to illustrate the importance of reflection as a means of making sense of your experience, processing your growth<\/span>,<\/span> and understanding the impact of an experiential learning activity. As part of the workshop, EL Ambassadors will teach a model of reflection and lead your group through <\/span>a customized reflection. Recommended time for this session is 45 \u2013 60 minutes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Communicating Transferable Skills from Experiential Learning Experiences<\/h4>
\n

In this workshop, EL Ambassadors <\/span>help <\/span>students <\/span>recognize and communicate<\/span> the transferrable skills <\/span>they\u2019ve<\/span> developed <\/span>through <\/span>previous<\/span> experiential learning activities.<\/span> <\/span>S<\/span>tudents <\/span>will learn <\/span>how <\/span>to <\/span>use the STAR method to highlight <\/span>connections between their coursework and <\/span>experiential <\/span>learning<\/span> <\/span>they\u2019ve<\/span> done, practicing storytelling along the way<\/span>.<\/span> Recommended <\/span>time <\/span>for this <\/span>session <\/span>is 45 \u2013 60 minutes<\/span>. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Student organizations, faculty, and staff are welcome to request virtual or in-person workshops on one of the topics listed above. <\/span>To request a workshop, please complete the workshop request form below.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We ask that you submit this form 2-3 weeks in advance of the date you would like to hold the workshop. <\/span>Please note that workshop requests are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis<\/span>,<\/span> subject to staff availability. If we are not able to meet your request, we will work with you to provide alternative information and resources.<\/span><\/p>\n
