Too Horny for Hexameter: Translating Elegiac Couplets

Speaker: Christopher Childers is the author of The Penguin Book of Greek and Latin Lyric Verse, a TLS and Australian Book Review Best Book of 2024 and a finalist for the London Hellenic Prize. Recently, his work has appeared in Image, Nimrod, Blue Unicorn, Revel, and Best American Poetry 2024, and he received the 2025 Frost Farm Prize. He holds an MFA in poetry from the Writing Seminar at Johns Hopkins, and currently lives with his wife in Los Angeles, where he teaches Latin.
