Media and Public Trust: Filling the Gap Between Academic Research and Real-World Action

On Monday, March 30, the Center for Media Innovation & Social Impact (MISI) is hosting Gregory Wellenius of Boston University's School of Public Health for "FILLING THE GAP BETWEEN ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND REAL-WORLD ACTION." Highlighting the gap between scientific knowledge of the health risks of extreme heat and effective public health action, this talk will propose how academics can make their research more relevant, timely, and actionable to communities -- with an emphasis on how to best communicate results to those outside of academia that can influence action. With support from Boston University College of Communication (COM).
