Community Voices: Building Stronger Partnerships Between Academia and Community
Join us for a conversation about what meaningful community collaboration with higher ed looks like, and how to think about shared values, expectations, and benefits. We will focus on an effort that began in 2022 called Transforming Narratives of Gun Violence that brought together a hospital research center, a prominent community organization, and a liberal arts college to co-create media for direct benefit of Boston’s communities most impacted by violence. Eric Gordon, Director of BU’s Center for Media Innovation & Social Impact (MISI), will be joined by Chaplain Clementina Chéry of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute and Dr. Peter Masiakos of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Interviewer: Eric Gordon, College of Communication/Director of MISI Panelists: Chaplain Clementina Cherý of the Louis D.
