[HBC] Career Spotlight: Careers in Patent Law and Science Innovation

Interested in careers at the intersection of science, law, and innovation? Join the Harvard Biotech Club and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for a special Career Spotlight featuring Dr. Weigang Lu on December 15th from 6–7 PM in TMEC (Tosteson Medical Education Center), Room 106 at 260 Longwood Ave, Boston, MA 02115.

Dr. Lu is a law clerk in Wilson Sonsini’s Boston office and a member of the patents and innovations practice. His technical background spans biotechnology, pharmaceutics, and chemistry, and his career path includes roles as a patent agent, a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School, and a doctoral researcher in glycobiology at the University of Georgia. He has broad experience in patent prosecution and IP due diligence across antibodies, diagnostics, RNA therapeutics, gene/cell therapies, small molecules, polymers, and more. This conversation will provide insight into navigating a career transition from academic research to intellectual property law, and what it’s like to work at a leading life-sciences-focused law firm.
