Creating Social Connections at Work
The evidence based research on the why and the how to have friendships/social connections at work. By now, you have probably heard about the importance of social connections and friendships for our mental and physical health. Did you know that having social connections/friendships at work also contribute to your work success and health? This webinar will cover the research on the why and the how to have friendships/ relationships at work. Join Jill Steinberg, Ph.D. (CAS'72), for an informative session about making these connections and friendships. Join us online on Wednesday, November 5, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time as Jill Steinberg, Ph.D. (CAS'72) will cover the following key points: Health and wellbeing benefits of close relationships Problems associated with lack of close relationships Gender differences in friendships How much time it takes to make a friend Best practices for establishing and maintaining close connections at work We hope you will join us in learning about this important topic so that you can make more informed decisions and take more informed actions to live your best life including your work life. About the Presenter: Jill Steinberg, PhD, is an Emeritus Professor at San José State University, where she taught psychology and was the director of their Peer Mentor Program. Jill is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Salzburg Fellow, author, and Founder of MyRetirementWorks.com. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston University in 1972 and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ohio State University in 1978. She taught classes and presented her research on successful retirement to universities, including BU, Google, and other professional organizations. Her research was published in The Aging Consumer: Perspectives from Psychology and Economics (Routledge, 2021).
