2nd Annual Celebration of Multilingual Writing
Now in its second year, the Celebration has grown into a vibrant campus-wide collaboration that features and honors the linguistic and cultural diversity of our students and the many ways they express themselves through writing, art, and performance. This year, our mission is to recognize multilingualism as a source of creativity, knowledge, and belonging, and to amplify the voices of students who use language, art, and music to bridge cultures, disciplines, and communities. The event is organized by the Writing Program, Global Programs, and the Howard Thurman Center, with additional support from CELOP, the BU Hub, and BU Libraries. The Celebration is open to all members of the BU community to showcase the multilingual voices in our classrooms and beyond. The day will feature: • Student posters, zines, and digital projects • Multilingual readings and performances • Interactive activities and language-based games • A community “clothesline” display of writing • Music, crafts, and refreshments We welcome individual students, class projects, and student groups to take part. We welcome everyone to come view the writing and art on Nov. 13.
