Reception for Skin/Screen
Reception for Skin/Screen ! treating some light snacks and meet the artists. Reception: Thursday, October 30, 6:00–8:00 PM Skin/Screen, a two-person exhibition Skin/Screen, featuring the work of Young one (Hayoung Cheon) and Alessandra Pozzuoli, both MFA Painting candidates at Boston University (’26). The exhibition explores themes of embodiment, material memory, and the digital gaze through mixed-media painting and installation. Using found and discarded materials, the artists investigate how touch, perception, and technological experience intertwine in contemporary life. Young one’s paintings translate physical and digital sensations into layered, tactile compositions that echo the rhythm of information flow, while Pozzuoli’s works use window screens, fabrics, and paint skins to examine intimacy, gesture, and matrilineal memory. Together, their works form a sensory dialogue between the Skin and the Screen—between what conceals, reveals, and connects. / Title: Skin/Screen Artists: Young one (Hayoung Cheon), Alessandra Pozzuoli Exhibition Dates: October 27–31, 2025 Reception: Thursday, October 30, 6:00–8:00 PM Venue: Commonwealth Gallery, Boston University 855 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA
