Communicating Complexity: How to Explain Complex Ideas in Simple Words
All BU PhD students and postdoctoral scholars are welcome to this event! Webinar: Shreya Ghosh, PhD, EMBL Communications Editor, will discuss different strategies, tips, and tricks for writing scientifically accurate yet engaging texts that are accessible to diverse audiences with or without a background in science. Fireside chat: Dr Ghosh will be available for 30 mins after her webinar for a simple fireside chat on careers in Science Communication. Let us know if you are interested in the registration form! Dr Ghosh is a science writer and editor who enjoys bringing exciting scientific or technical discoveries to the notice of the public in an engaging and entertaining manner. Following a PhD in neuroscience from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in India, she worked at IndiaBioscience, an organisation for science outreach focused on empowering Indian scientists and improving the culture and practice of doing science in India. She then moved to Germany during the pandemic (in 2021), and since then has been working on creating accessible and informational science content for the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), enhancing the visibility of the institution's research and services, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of textual content. Please register for this event using the form below. Looking forward to e-seeing you there!
