Solo Cello Through the Ages
Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Music presents Sarah Freiberg, Lecturer in Historical Performance, in a lecture recital traversing five centuries of solo cello repertoire, using instruments and bows that correspond to the selections. The recital will put the works in historical context, beginning with some of the earliest works known from the 1680s, and ending with a brief piece from 2015, with a discussion of the enduring legacy of the Bach cello Suites. This event is free and open to the public.
