Opening Reception: The Other One: Dependency, Distortion, Displacement
Join Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts and School of Music for the opening reception of The Other One: Dependency, Distortion, Displacement on Friday, October 10 from 6 to 8 pm, presented along with the Berlin-based arts collective House for the End of the World (HEW).
This exhibition is part of Sites of Convergence, a series of multi-site interdisciplinary exhibitions that transform non-traditional spaces into dynamic meeting points where ideas, people, and practices intersect. The Other One explores themes of technological reliance, urban development, and identity through experimental installation, sound, and performance. The exhibition features work by three core HEW artists: Joshua Fineberg, Elana Katz, and Dario Srbić. Fineberg is a Full Professor in the BU School of Music and Director of the Center for New Music. Srbić is an artist and researcher whose work explores algorithmic art, affective computing, robotics, parametric design, and the ethics of artificial intelligence. Katz, the founder of HEW, is a conceptual artist specializing in site-specific performance and installation.
