Exploring the Power of Discussions and Teacher Learning in Community Spaces
This talk will discuss a collaborative study centered on school-embedded professional development. Within this work, we fostered in the moment-to-moment classroom practice and professional learning. As part of this collaboration, I will describe how literary texts and discussions can support teachers and students within shared learning spaces. This discussion will also focus on the ways in which the collaborative nature of the professional learning design supported teachers’ and teacher educators’ ongoing sensemaking, as well as challenged norms around professional learning.
