Design Colloquium 11.1 @ Boston University Keynote: YuJune Park
BU College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts presents a keynote lecture by YuJune Park as part of Design Incubation 11.1: Boston University, organized by the MFA Graphic Design program.
YuJune Park is a designer and educator with deep expertise in strategy, branding, and hybrid physical-digital experiences with a specialization in the cultural heritage sector. Her research focuses on global scripts, archives, and the manifold ways design can unlock human stories and reveal connections through language and information. She is the co-author of Ming Romantic: Collected and Bound and Ming Romantic: Collected and Bound, 2nd Edition, published by NN Contemporary Arts and Library Stack.
Park is the co-founder of Synoptic Office, an award-winning design consultancy that partners globally with leading cultural, civic, and business organizations. The studio's work has been honored by Fast Company's Innovation by Design Awards, the Webbys, Design Week, the Art Director's Club, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Synoptic Office was selected to participate in BIO23 and BIO26, the Biennial of Design at the Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana. They have exhibited at the Ningbo Museum of Art in China, the 26th International Biennial of Graphic Design in Brno, and at Palazzo Mora with the European Cultural Centre in collaboration with the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale.
In addition to teaching and designing, Park has served as the Program Director and Associate Director of the BFA Communication Design program and the Chair of the School Curriculum Committee. She speaks internationally on design, education, and typography, most recently at the Association Typographique Internationale, Typographics, Northside Festival, and AIGA/NY. In 2022, Park was selected for Creative Review's Creative Leaders list, which celebrates global leaders advancing their field.
