Boston Playwrights' Theatre Mural "Inauguration"

This fall, Boston University is welcoming a new president, Melissa L. Gilliam, and BPT is having an inauguration of our own—the official unveiling of our beautiful new mural by Boston-based artists Silvia López Chavez and Mario Matojo. Made possible through grants from the Mass Cultural Council and the BU Arts Initiative, the mural features a vibrant, colorful curtain and outstretched hands welcoming all into our lobby. Now we feature new work by local artists on the outside as well as the inside! Please join us on Friday, September 27, between 6-7:30 p.m., to toast Silvia and Mario, enjoy some great snacks and funky music, and mingle with friends old and new. This event is part of the celebration of BU’s Alumni Weekend—so to reserve your spot, please visit BU’s Alumni Weekend Events site, select “Events Lineup” in the navigation, and enter “mural” in the search box. (All are welcome, though alumni may be particularly emotional in bidding farewell to the brutalist concrete masterpiece that was the old entryway.) See you soon!
