Women and Autobiographical Identities within Puppet Theatre
Part of the Arrivano Dal Mare Figure Theater Festival in Ravenna, Italy, this international roundtable focuses on women and the use of autobiography as material and inspiration in figure theater, including masks. The Online event is hosted by Roberta Colombo of Teatro del Drago, along with scholars Cristina Grazioli of the University of Padova and Cariad Astles of the University of Exeter. Arrivano dal Mare, organized by Teatro del Drago-Famiglia d’Arte Monticelli di Ravenna, is one of the oldest and most recognized international puppet theater festivals in Italy. Along with performances and exhibitions, the festival is a venue for international dialogue about the puppetry arts. Women & Masks is privileged to co-sponsor this important event that explores women in material performance.
