Meet the Funder: American Cancer Society
As the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit source of funds for scientists studying cancer, the American Cancer Society (ACS) remains committed to funding basic, translational, clinical, and cancer control research now and in the future. ACS supports early-career and established investigators who perform innovative cancer research across a wide range of disciplines, to meet critically important needs in scientific discovery to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Karen Antman, MD, BUMC Provost and Dean of the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, will lead a discussion with Lynne Elmore, PhD, Senior Scientific Director of the Cell Biology and Preclinical Cancer Research program at ACS, and Deborah Lang, PhD, recent ACS grantee and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.
