Screening of "Welcoming The Embrace": a documentary for Boston.
Come watch "Welcoming The Embrace" at The Howard Thurman Center and jump into an important conversation about our communities. This documentary isn't just about a sculpture. It takes a look at race, class, history, and the legacy of an often overlooked group: black people in Boston. After the screening, the filmmakers and other panelists will take questions from the audience. By the way, this documentary features interviews with The Howard Thurman Center's own director, Nick Bates! The filmmakers' description of Welcoming the Embrace: "The new film from Embrace Boston, chronicles the emotional cinematic journey into the development and unveiling of the Embrace Memorial of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King in Boston. From the creators of Beyond MEASURE productions, this outstanding new film lifts up the voices of all generations for justice, equality and a promising future."
