AIR Distinguished Speaker: Sharon Huang, Professor, Penn State
Talk Title: Generating Synthetic Images and Videos for Data Augmentation and Sharing in Medical Applications
In this talk, Dr. Sharon Xiaolei Huang will first give an overview of mainstream models for generating synthetic images and videos. She will then present several conditional generative models for synthesizing realistic histopathology images and demonstrate how such images can be used for data augmentation towards enhancing image classification performance. She will also give examples of analyzing and generating medical videos for computer-aided diagnosis and privacy-preserving data sharing purposes. The talk will conclude with a discussion of future research directions for image and video synthesis and their applications in the medical domain.
