Radio Boston Presents: Comics culture

There’s more to comics and graphic novels than big laughs, intense action or major drama — cartoonists offer satire, sharp commentary and insight into our world that only this visual artform can provide to elevate the conversation. The sophistication and depth of talent in the Boston cartoonist community is set to take over CitySpace. Ahead of Fan Expo Boston on August 4-6, join Joel Christian Gill, cartoonist, associate professor of art and chair of Boston University’s department of visual narrative, for a conversation exploring the culture of comics with local artists. Following the conversation, meet the makers! Copies of the cartoonists’ books, art and other treasures will be on display and available for purchase in the lobby.
