Understanding and Working with Youth Experiencing Homelessness

This workshop will provide an opportunity for you to learn about: • Causes of housing instability or homelessness • How the adult service system may not meet the needs of young adults, especially LGBTQ+ youth • Ways our communities can better serve & support young adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability Free & open to the public. She is a leader in bringing youth with lived experience to the forefront of ending youth & young adult homelessness, using her own lived experience to inform & motivate her in her work. She is an expert on Youth Action Board governance structures & a founding director of the Boston Youth Action Board. She is a consultant for the MA Special Commission on Youth Homelessness & co-author of the MA State Plan to End Youth Homelessness. Lauren was part of the Y5 Consulting team leading the development of the Rising to the Challenge plan to prevent & end youth homelessness for Boston & is part of TAC’s YHDP team providing direct technical assistance to communities.
