How We Talk About the Climate Crisis

The threat posed by a warming planet and changing climate is often described as "existential." Yet a large segment of Americans and their elected leaders remain unmoved to act. Is this a failure to communicate -- by scientists translating the data, by advocates framing the problem, or by journalists telling a compelling story? If so, how then should we talk about the climate crisis?Panelists: Jesse Gallun (COM'01), director of communications, climate change, The Nature Conservancy; Eve Zuckoff (COM'18), climate change reporter, WCAI; Jacqueline Patterson (Wheelock'90), senior director, NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice Program. Moderator: Sarah Finnie Robinson, adjunct clinical professor, COM, and founding director, The 51 Percent Project.
