COVID-19, Black Communities, and Health Justice
Racialized social policies have created the conditions that make it hard for communities to thrive. Inequities in the COVID-19 pandemic have made this quite clear. Improving health equity calls for an acknowledgment of the ways in which white supremacy culture permeates health policies and practice at all levels, as well as taking collective action to develop systems that are led by antiracist change. This panel will explore the role that social work, health care, public health, community organizations, and policy can play in advancing health equity. 1.5 free continuing education credits are available for social workers licensed in Massachusetts, after completion of a brief quiz. This event is free and open to the public. Please register to receive Zoom access information.
