Media Training for Academics: Thriving in a Fast-Moving (and Remote) Environment
The average length of a media soundbite is just 7.3 seconds. How can you succeed in this pressure-filled, fast-paced, and now remote environment? Brad Phillips of Throughline is back by popular demand to lead a virtual, interactive media training and messaging workshop to help you deliver a message that audiences will remember, act upon, and share. Phillips has trained thousands of academics, researchers and scientists, and he will highlight essential tools and tactics to help you build valuable relationships and place your expertise into the public square. You will learn how to develop memorable messages that resonate with reporters and stick with audiences, boil complex topics down into meaningful takeaways, approach media interviews confidently, navigate challenging questions, and project positive body language in remote interview settings. He will present new techniques that have not been covered during his previous visits to Boston University.
