A Letter-writing Campaign to Incarcerated Survivors
In this two-event series participants will hear from two speakers about how our criminal justice system fails to support survivors of intimate partner violence and often criminalizes their acts of self-defense. The first event features two speakers, Michael Cox and Dave Rini. Michael is the director of policy at Black and Pink who will also share his story as an incarcerated survivor. Dave is the coordinator of the Incarcerated Survivor Support Program at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC). This event lays the foundation for learning more about how we can support incarcerated survivors through a letter-writing campaign designed by Survived and Punished. The second event is an opportunity to write letters to incarcerated survivors with SARP ambassadors and other BU students. We look forward to having you at the event.
