BUCPUA Guest Lecture: Managing Energy Demand and Supply in Cities
Join Boston University City Planning and Urban Affairs class UA 617 Actionable Sustainability for a guest lecture featuring Massachusetts State Representative Tommy Vitolo, Ph.D., who will be discussing Managing Energy Demand and Supply in Cities. Representative Vitolo is a Boston University College of Engineering alum, earning his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering. He worked for Synapse Energy Economics for eight years, providing analysis and advice on energy matters for public interest clients. He spend that time fighting for utility customers and cleaner environmental outcomes. Before becoming a State Representative, he was elected to Town Meeting in 2007 and served as Constable from 2010. In November 2018, Representative Vitolo was elected State Representative for the 15th Norfolk district, consisting of Brookline precincts 2-4 and 6-13. He serves as a member of the Joint Committee on Elder Affairs; the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development; the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business; and the Joint Committee on Public Service.
